The Cambridge Suites Toronto is a 231-suite hotel located at Yonge and Richmond streets.
Manga Hotel Group is a Canadian company involved in the acquisition, development and management of high-quality residences and hotels affiliated with prestigious brands such as Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt and Intercontinental Hotels Group. Currently, Manga Hotels owns and operates 34 hotels with over 6000 rooms across Canada and in the United States, 18 food and beverage outlets and 5 residential properties with several new properties and developments in the pipeline. As Manga Hotels continue to expand, we are actively seeking talented individuals to join our growing team.
The Sales Manager will develop and manage the hotel's negotiated transient and group segments. The candidate must be skilled in building relationships, engaging clients, anticipating guest needs, and exceeding expectations. This candidate will work alongside the General Manager to achieve pre-established room and revenue goals.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Proactively solicits and qualifies new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, written communication, and client entertainment;
- Conducts targeted account research to determine revenue potential;
- Participates in daily business review meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required;
- To be knowledgeable of local market, national companies, market trends, competition and customers;
- Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers;
- Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings;
- Responds to sales leads and clients' requests within 4 hours;
- Prepares and customizes sales presentations and proposals to meet client's needs;
- Works in harmony with other departments to execute groups and catering;
- Produces quarterly plans and weekly reports with plans to follow through on activities targets and annual revenue goals;
- Analyze current and potential market trends; coordinates all activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume and increased rates;
- Executes sales trips to key market areas;
- Maintains accounts in Delphi with all pertinent information;
- Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly;
- Weekly MOD shifts;
- Maintain Manga / Hampton policies and procedures; and
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Requirements:
- Must have excellent communication, written and verbal required
- Must have a sharp knowledge and understanding of the hotel sales / operations
- This position must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in hotel sales
- Energetic and outgoing, with a positive attitude, driven to provide outstanding guest service.
- A working knowledge of Delphi or OnQ is a plus.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, hold a valid driver's license and drive to client appointments
- Self-motivated with the ability to function and make decisions in a fast-paced high-pressure environment with strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
