51 North Interiors has been creating high-quality commercial interior spaces in Calgary since 2010. We take pride in craftsmanship, efficiency, and reliable project delivery. We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Steel Stud Framer & Drywall Journeyman, with a minimum of 5 years experience, to join our growing team.

This position pays $28 – $33/hour depending on experience.

Full-time employee applicants are encouraged, but contractors are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Install light gauge and heavy gauge steel framing for commercial projects (walls, ceilings, floors)
  • Install drywall for various commercial applications
  • Install drop ceiling systems and T-bar grid/tile systems
  • Follow directions from the Foreman or Superintendent
  • Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Coordinate with team members, clients, builders, and architects
  • Ensure work is completed efficiently and to company standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Follow all safety rules, procedures, and company policies
  • Assist with training apprentices and new hires as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial steel stud framing and drywall installation
  • Proficient with required hand and power tools
  • Must have your own trade-related tools
  • Must have valid PPE and reliable transportation
  • Physically able to lift and carry tools and materials
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Liability/WCB coverage is an asset, but not required (unless you are a contractor, then liability/WCB coverage is required)
