Overview

The International African Arts, Crafts and Culture Fair (IAACCF) is a celebration of African creativity, heritage, and cultural expression. We invite talented DJs, music performing artists, and cultural dance groups to join us in creating an immersive, vibrant, and memorable experience for our guests.

These performers will play a key role in enhancing the atmosphere, showcasing cultural authenticity, and engaging diverse audiences throughout the IAACCF event on Sunday Dec 14th, 2025 from 10am-8pm. Curated sessions shall be assigned for each performance.

1. Role: DJ (Event Sound and Music Experience)Key Responsibilities:

• Curate and play a dynamic mix of Afrobeat, Highlife, Amapiano, Afrobeats Gospel, traditional African rhythms, and multicultural sounds suitable for the event.
• Provide background music during exhibitions, transitions, and intermissions.
• Collaborate with event coordinators to manage sound quality and ensure smooth flow of performances.
• Make occasional announcements when required.
• Maintain professional, culturally sensitive selections appropriate for a family-friendly environment.

Requirements:

• Experience performing at multicultural or community events.
• Ability to read the crowd and adjust music accordingly.
• Must bring own DJ controller/laptop (sound system is provided unless otherwise arranged).
• Strong time management and communication skills.

2. Role: Music Performing Artists (Live Music Showcase)Key Responsibilities:

• Perform live music reflecting African sounds and contemporary influences (solo or group).
• Deliver high-quality, engaging performances that align with IAACCF cultural themes.
• Participate in short audience interactions when appropriate (e.g., introducing songs, sharing cultural context).
• Coordinate technical needs with the sound team before the event.
• Arrive on time for soundcheck and adhere to scheduled performance slots.

Requirements:

• Proven experience performing live (community events, festivals, cultural showcases).
• Strong stage presence and vocal/instrumental proficiency.
• Ability to adapt performance to the event's flow and atmosphere.
• Professionalism and respect for cultural diversity.

3. Role: Cultural Dance Groups (Traditional Dance Performance)Key Responsibilities:

• Present an authentic cultural dance performance representing specific African traditions or regions.
• Wear appropriate cultural costumes and props showcasing heritage.
• Engage the audience through movement, storytelling, and cultural expression.
• Participate in photo sessions with attendees if requested.
• Coordinate with event staff on stage layout, music needs, and performance timing.

Requirements:

• Experience performing traditional African dance at festivals, community events, or cultural ceremonies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of choreography and cultural rituals associated with the performance.
• Ability to transport costumes/props and arrive prepared for performance.
• Respect for cultural sensitivity and positive audience engagement.

General Expectations for All Performers

• Arrive early for soundcheck, rehearsal, and coordination.
• Maintain professional and respectful behavior throughout the event.
• Promote IAACCF on social media (where possible).
• Adhere to the event timeline and instructions from stage managers.
• Bring positive energy that enhances the event experience for guests and exhibitors.

Pay: $21.82 per hour
