We are seeking a newly licensed or junior RCIC-IRB who is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to develop hands-on experience in Canadian immigration matters within a supportive and professional environment.

Position Overview

This is an entry-level to junior position, ideal for a recent RCIC-IRB graduate looking to build a strong foundation in Refugee and Immigration practice under supervision and mentorship.

You will work closely with senior counsel and case teams on file preparation, submissions, client communication, and Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB)-related processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of Refugee Claims, Appeals, and H&C Applications
  • Draft narratives, affidavits, submissions, and supporting documentation
  • Communicate with clients in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner
  • Manage files using digital case-management systems and cloud-based tools
  • Conduct legal and country-condition research as required
  • Assist with IRB procedures, timelines, and compliance requirements
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with CICC and IRB standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of case processing and firm operations

Qualifications

  • Licensed RCIC-IRB (or recently licensed and in good standing)
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a digital environment (cloud platforms, CRMs, document management systems)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple files
  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and follow structured workflows
  • Prior internship, practicum, or academic exposure to Refugee or Immigration Law is an asset
