Position Overview:

As our PR/Media Lead for Commercial Operations, you will drive media engagement strategies, manage media and public relations activities, and support integrated marketing campaigns. You will craft clear, compelling communications—including press releases, statements, and talking points—and prepare executives for media opportunities. In this individual contributor role, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders, external agencies, and government relations, reporting to the Senior Manager, Media & Public Relations.

Your Day to Day as our PR/Media Lead, Commercial Operations:

• Lead and execute media engagement strategies.
• Craft clear, compelling press materials and executive talking points.
• Prepare and coach leaders for media interviews and public appearances.
• Serve as a spokesperson when required and support crisis communications.
• Monitor media coverage and deliver insights to guide messaging.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, agencies, and government relations on aligned communications.
• Support public events and facility tours.
• Contribute content to BWXT's social media channels.
• Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns to strengthen brand visibility.

Required Qualifications:

• 7–10 years of media relations experience, including press release writing and spokesperson duties.
• Skilled in Canadian media outlet knowledge, media monitoring, public speaking, and crisis management.
• Excellent writing with strong attention to detail and clarity.
• Experience developing and executing marketing campaigns.
• Preferred: experience in nuclear, manufacturing, or high-tech industries, especially in regulated or sensitive communications.
• Able to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that values innovation, continuous improvement, and safety.
• Preferred: experrience with photography and video editing

Security Clearance:

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $126,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
