RISC Inc. is seeking a
Risk Associate
to become a member of the
Real Estate Finance Risk Management Consulting Team
. Based in Toronto, and reporting to the Executive Managing Director, the successful candidate will manage significant and complex components of our market-leading services and bring experience and passion for building client relationships. Focus will be placed in large part across a broad set of functions related to real estate finance and insurance throughout Canadian property markets. You will also be responsible for liaising with and providing direct support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop specialized knowledge and manage large, complex components of our projects
  • Oversee, manage and perform detailed real estate insurance appraisals on property loan transactions
  • Provide leading consulting services to financial institutions, real estate investors/developers
  • Communicate regularly with real estate lenders, real estate investors/developers, insurance brokers
  • Develop relationships in the real estate finance, investment, development and insurance communities
  • Maintain an understanding of real estate activity and insurance risks throughout Canada

Education and Experience:

  • University degree in a related discipline
  • 2+ years of analytical experience in a related professional environment
  • Experience or knowledge of real property insurance fundamentals is considered an asset
  • Experience or knowledge of commercial real estate sector(s) is considered an asset
  • Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation from a recognized Canadian institution considered an asset

Qualifications:

  • Advanced computer literacy, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Detail oriented and focused on accuracy
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proactive and takes initiative
  • Ability to work in French is considered an asset
