Position Summary:

Canadian Adventure Charters (CAC) invites applications from accomplished and visionary Software Robotics & Data Systems Engineers / Research Scientists with proven experience in polar, Arctic, and Antarctic expeditions to join our elite operations team aboard CAC's Research Explorer Ice-Class Vessels and land-based laboratories.

This role represents an extraordinary opportunity for an engineer-scientist who thrives in high-stakes, remote environments and is deeply motivated by robotic innovation, scientific exploration, ocean conservation, and the advancement of the Blue Economy.

The successful candidate will lead all onboard software robotics, data engineering, and applied research programs, working at the intersection of advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and marine science.

You will collaborate directly with UHNW private charter guests, leading research scientists, DeepSea Discovery Club members, and global partners, within an ecosystem that seamlessly integrates luxury exploration, shipwreck discovery, wellness innovation, and frontier scientific research.

As a member of CAC's Advisory Board and a founding contributor to the DeepSea Discovery Club, you will also play a key role in developing next-generation polar technology programs, climate change and global warming initiatives, and advanced expedition communications and AI research systems.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, integration, and deployment of robotic systems and software automation platforms for oceanographic, environmental, and exploration missions.
  • Oversee data acquisition, processing, and analytics for multidisciplinary scientific programs.
  • Collaborate with global research institutions to expand CAC's Blue Economy and climate research initiatives.
  • Support expedition operations with autonomous and remotely operated systems (ROVs, UAV,s and, AUVs).
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary innovation, bridging software, robotics, marine science, and environmental intelligence.
  • Participate in Advisory Board sessions and assist in shaping CAC's long-term research, technology, and sustainability strategy.
