Job Overview

Viet Lounge is a modern Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary. We are currently looking for a friendly, reliable, and organized Host to join our front-of-house team.

This is a host-only position (no serving duties, no tips). The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, can stay calm in a busy environment, and is comfortable working flexible hours, including late nights.

Work Schedule

  • Flexible schedule
  • Two main shifts:
  • Day / Evening: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Late Night: 8:00 PM – 4:00 AM
  • Shift times may vary depending on business needs
  • Full-time, Part-time, and On-call positions available

Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Manage waitlists and reservations
  • Answer phone calls and assist with guest inquiries
  • Assist with takeout and delivery pickups (Uber, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and entrance area
  • Wipe menus and keep front area presentable
  • Support FOH team during busy hours (non-serving tasks)
  • Follow restaurant procedures and service standards

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 months experience in restaurants or hospitality
  • Fluent English communication is required
  • Vietnamese is an asset (but not required)
  • Friendly, quick learner, reliable, and a team player
  • Able to stand for long periods and work under pressure
  • 18+ years old
  • ProServe certification is an asset
  • Having a driver's license or reliable transportation is an asset
