Role Overview
The client is seeking a
Senior Front End Software Developer
to support the
STR Portal
, a resident facing application that handles
secure submission of sensitive medical documentation
. This role focuses on
modern single page application development
, accessibility compliance, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams in a public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, upgrade, test, and implement front end components for a large scale public facing portal
  • Support secure handling of confidential medical documentation and special collection forms
  • Document technical specifications, system designs, implementation details, and user guides
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues related to functionality, data integrity, performance, and user access
  • Participate in planning, estimation, and delivery of enhancements aligned with program needs
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with accessibility, privacy, and security standards
  • Analyze defects and issues, provide root cause analysis, and support remediation
  • Conduct and document unit, functional, integration, system, regression, and security testing
  • Prepare test results, reports, and recommendations for management and stakeholders

Mandatory Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience developing single page applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap
  • Strong experience with front end frameworks such as Backbone, React, and (Web Components)
  • Extensive experience integrating front end applications with REST APIs using JSON and XML
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision on application architecture and integration
  • Strong experience creating and maintaining architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and risk assessments
  • Extensive experience developing accessible digital products compliant with WCAG 2.x AA, AODA, and WAI-ARIA
  • Demonstrated experience optimizing accessibility across web and mobile platforms
  • Post secondary education in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
