In this role you will be accountable for monitoring, troubleshooting, client support, configuration, and operations of Suncor's IT infrastructure. Minimum Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Networking, Telecommunications, Information Technology or Computer Science
  • 5 years experience with network and/or server support
  • A Cisco, Juniper, or Microsoft certification (CCNA, JNCIA, MCSE, etc.)

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and support IT infrastructure components related to networks, virtualization, cloud, servers, storage, and backups.
  • Evaluate and triage IT infrastructure events
  • Perform - and document - complex troubleshooting of IT infrastructure events
  • Monitor planned IT infrastructure changes
  • Co-ordinate Incident resolution within IT infrastructure operations
  • Co-ordinate IT infrastructure troubleshooting with specialist teams.
  • Issue escalations via established processes
  • Produce priority event reports

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Work shift is generally "Monday to Friday" regular business hours. However, as business needs dictate, candidates must be willing to temporarily work condensed work schedules in a 24x7x365 operational setting. These "4-on-4-off" shifts require consent to OT Averaging.
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
