Join Our Dynamic Team as a Precision Tooling and Automation Specialist
Do you have a keen eye for precision craftsmanship and extensive experience in both building tooling and supporting complex automation systems? We have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your expertise in fabrication, assembly, and system maintenance to our fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.
Position Overview
As a Precision Tooling and Automation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring our robotic and automated production systems run efficiently, reliably, and accurately. Your time will be generally split, on average, between 50% component inspection and quality assurance and 50% automation system building and assembly. Your hands-on skills will be crucial for fabricating new fixture tooling, assembling complex automation modules, diagnosing system faults, and performing detailed part inspections. This is a highly collaborative role where your deep knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics will directly contribute to minimizing downtime and maximizing product quality.
What You'll Do
- Tooling Fabrication & Assembly: Manufacture, assemble, and fit new precision tooling, jigs, and fixtures based on complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Automation Systems Installation: Assemble, install, integrate, and test new robotic arms, conveyance lines, and automation modules to ensure seamless production startup.
- System Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on existing automation equipment, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults to minimize disruption to production schedules.
- Component Inspection: Take responsibility for the inspection of manufactured parts and production components, utilizing metrology tools to verify accuracy and compliance with strict quality standards.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems: Apply expert knowledge to diagnose, repair, and maintain the functionality of all hydraulic and pneumatic systems powering the automation equipment.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot tooling and automation-related issues on the production floor, recommending and implementing permanent, long-term solutions to improve overall efficiency and quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, robotics technicians, and production staff to design, test, and implement new or modified tooling and automation strategies.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of tooling repairs, system modifications, and all preventative maintenance performed.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on precision tooling fabrication and automated system maintenance. Apprenticeship or certification in Tool & Maker, Machining, or Automation Technology is highly preferred.
- Advanced System Knowledge: Proven working knowledge and experience with the principles, components, and troubleshooting of industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with traditional machining tools (lathes, mills, grinders), CNC equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Robotics & Automation: Demonstrated ability to assist with the assembly, mechanical setup, and alignment of industrial robotic and automation systems.
- Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read, interpret, and work accurately with complex technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy required for both tooling fabrication and critical part inspection.
Why Join Us?
- Competitive Salary and Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package to support your health and well-being.
- Growth Opportunities: Join a forward-thinking company that actively values skill development and career advancement in automation technology.
- Team Environment: Be part of a highly collaborative and supportive workplace where your precision craftsmanship is essential to our success.
