PAY: $20.00–$24.00 per hour (based on experience and independence)

WAGE REVIEW: 60–90 day review based on performance and ability to work independently

ABOUT THE ROLE

Icon Sheet Metal Inc. is hiring a dependable Shop Generalist to support production through secondary operations (drill press, tapping, countersinking) and PEM hardware installation using a Haeger insertion press.

You will be given drawings by the shop manager and expected to set up and process parts accurately. When we're slower, you will run the work yourself. When we're busy, we will provide additional staff so multiple processes can run at once — you will help set up, organize, and monitor the workflow.

Training can be provided, but we are looking for someone who is motivated to become self-sufficient.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings and hardware callouts

  • Drill press work: drilling, tapping, countersinking, and deburring/cleanup

  • Install PEM hardware using a Haeger insertion press (nuts, studs, standoffs, etc.)

  • Perform basic quality checks as required (visual checks and simple measurements)

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation

  • During busy periods, support and guide helpers once the setup is established

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment

  • Ability to read and follow drawings (this is important)

  • Comfortable with drill press work, tapping, and countersinking

  • Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and a team-first attitude

NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED)

  • Experience with Haeger presses or PEM hardware insertion

  • Sheet metal fabrication experience
