About The Role
The ESG Data Analyst within the Corporate Sustainable Development team plays a vital role in managing and analyzing ESG data to support the Bank's sustainability initiatives. This position involves collaborating with stakeholders across various departments to enhance data collection processes, improve data quality, and develop insightful dashboards for monitoring ESG key performance indicators (KPIs). The analyst will support audit and disclosure processes for external ESG reports, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks and standards such as GHG Protocol, ISSB, CSRD, and OSFI B-15. The role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of applying data governance principles, recommending process improvements, and developing analytics solutions to optimize ESG data management. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, innovative environment that values continuous improvement and strategic thinking.
Qualifications
- University degree in sustainability, finance, accounting, risk management, business intelligence, or a related field
- CPA designation is an asset
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in data analysis, manipulation, and visualization
- Experience in internal audit, carbon accounting, or ESG disclosure
- Knowledge of ESG disclosure frameworks such as GHG Protocol, ISSB, CSRD, and OSFI Standard B-15
- Experience with ESG disclosure platforms is an asset
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data management tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Understanding of internal control assessment and implementation
- Knowledge of data quality, confidentiality, and governance principles
Responsibilities
- Support data collection and analysis by engaging with stakeholders and data owners to ensure accurate and comprehensive ESG data
- Make recommendations to improve internal controls, enhance data quality, and increase efficiency in data processing and reporting
- Build, update, and maintain dashboards for monitoring ESG indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with internal teams
- Respond to ad hoc requests by providing relevant information to support decision-making and regulatory compliance
- Assist in preparing for ESG audits by verifying data accuracy, completeness, and traceability
- Develop and implement analytics solutions to streamline ESG data management processes
- Apply data governance principles to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and quality of ESG data across all activities
