The Role

We are recruiting for a General Superintendent for a project in Red Deer, AB. The General Superintendent is a key member of the project leadership team, responsible for the overall field execution, coordination, and supervision of multiple construction projects or large-scale work scopes. This role provides direction to site Superintendents and General Foremen, ensuring that all work is performed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Lead and oversee multiple construction sites or large project scopes from mobilization to turnover.Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all field operations comply with company and client safety requirements.Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to site Superintendents, Foremen, and field teams.Coordinate construction activities with project management, engineering, quality, and procurement teams.Monitor progress, manpower, and productivity to ensure schedule and budget compliance.Participate in constructability reviews, planning, and project execution strategy.Review and approve field progress reports, look-aheads, and work plans.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.Drive continuous improvement and contribute to company best practices in construction execution. 

Skills/Education/Qualifications

15+ years of progressive construction experience, including 5+ years in a senior site leadership role (General or Senior Superintendent level).Proven background in industrial, mechanical, structural, or civil construction (oil & gas, mining, or heavy industrial sectors preferred).Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, scheduling, cost control, and quality management.Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage large field teams and multiple work fronts.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-focused approach.Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents with high accuracy.Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software; experience with Google Suite considered an asset.Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
