Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Home Care

Location: Community-based / Client homes

Employment Type: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality, one-on-one care to clients in their homes. As a PSW, you will support clients with daily living activities, promote dignity and independence, and build meaningful, trusting relationships with the people you care for.

This role is ideal for caregivers who value consistency, client connection, and delivering care the right way — not rushed, not institutional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility
  • Support activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Assist with light housekeeping related to client care
  • Support safe transfers and ambulation (with or without mobility aids)
  • Follow individualized care plans and client preferences
  • Observe, document, and communicate changes in client condition
  • Maintain client privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times
  • Work collaboratively with care coordinators and families as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

  • PSW Certificate or equivalent recognized caregiving credential
  • Experience providing home care or personal support (formal or informal)
  • Strong communication skills and functional English proficiency
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable
  • Ability to work independently in a client's home
  • Reliable transportation preferred (role may involve travel between clients)
  • Valid work authorization
