Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Ranch Hand to join and help operate a working beef cow/calf ranch. This role is hands-on, outdoors, and demanding. If you are looking for an easy job, this is not it. If ranching is who you are, keep reading.

Responsibilities

  • Daily feeding and care of cattle
  • Cow/calf management, including calving support
  • Assisting with preg-checks and herd health
  • Operating farm equipment (tractor experience required)
  • Pasture management and fencing
  • General ranch maintenance
  • Working with horses as required
  • Supporting overall ranch operations and seasonal priorities

Requirements

  • Proven farming/ranching experience
  • Equipment experience – must know how to safely operate a tractor
  • Strong livestock handling skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
  • Physically capable of ranch work
  • Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated
  • Genuine respect for animals and the land
  • Work well with others
  • Loves the outdoors
  • Takes pride in hard work
  • Cares deeply about animal welfare
  • Wants stability and purpose, not a short-term job

Preferred Assets

  • Leadership or senior ranch hand experience
  • Experience with beef cow/calf operations
  • Horse handling experience
  • Christian faith is considered an asset
