PROJECT MANAGER (OR PROJECT COORDINATOR, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)

Industrial / Petroleum Construction Projects

Absolute Petroleum Ltd. builds and services bulk fuel plants, retail fuel sites, cardlocks, tank installations, piping systems, and related industrial infrastructure across Western and Northern Canada.

We are hiring either a Project Manager or Project Coordinator, depending on experience and skill level.

This is a great fit for someone with construction or industrial project experience who wants a stable, professional environment and a mid-level management track.

Position Summary

You will manage or support construction projects involving tanks, piping, fuel systems, equipment installs, and infrastructure upgrades.

• Project Managers lead project execution, scheduling, budgets, and client communication.
• Project Coordinators assist with documentation, scheduling, procurement, and project administration, with the opportunity to advance into a PM role.

This role requires excellent organization, communication, and comfort using project software.

Key Responsibilities Project Manager

• Manage construction projects from planning through close-out
• Create schedules, coordinate manpower, organize materials
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors, technicians, and suppliers
• Monitor budgets, approve purchases, track project costs
• Oversee quality control, documentation, and deliverables
• Plan and support tank/piping/equipment installations (training provided if needed)
• Perform site visits as required

Project Coordinator

• Support PMs with scheduling, document control, and procurement
• Maintain project files, drawings, logs, RFIs, and reports
• Track materials, equipment, and deliveries
• Assist with cost tracking and budgeting
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams
• Perform occasional site visits and assist field teams
• Grow into full PM responsibilities over time

Qualifications Project Manager

• Experience managing industrial or construction projects
• Strong skills in scheduling, coordination, and budgeting
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and project management software

(MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, Buildertrend, Procore, or equivalent)

• Ability to read drawings and work with technical teams
• Strong communication and leadership ability

Project Coordinator

• Experience in construction or industrial environments
• Strong organizational and documentation abilities
• Comfortable with Excel, digital forms, and project software
• Willingness to learn fuel-system specifics (training provided)
• Interest in moving into project management over time

Assets for Both Roles

• Experience with mechanical or civil construction
• Understanding of fuel systems, tanks, piping, or industrial equipment (not required)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

• $50,000–$80,000+ per year, depending on experience and role
