Overview

We are a growing Occupational Health and Safety consulting firm dedicated to helping businesses meet and exceed their safety compliance obligations. We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Health and Safety Specialist to join our team on a part-time, casual, and on-call basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments across multiple job sites
  • Develop and update Safe Work Procedures and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Support WSIB claims management and Return-to-Work (RTW) programs
  • Facilitate or participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings
  • Assist with the development and implementation of customized Health and Safety Programs
  • Provide guidance and support to client management and staff on OHSA compliance
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation following site visits and inspections

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
  • Experience in COR/ISO
  • Proven experience developing health and safety programs and procedures
  • Familiarity with WSIB processes, RTW planning, and incident investigations
  • Ability to travel to various job sites (travel expenses compensated)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Certification in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) training (Part 1 & 2) is an asset
  • CRSP, CHSC, or related designation is considered an asset
