Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, utilizing your skills to provide essential support to our medical team.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Schedule patient appointments using AVA Industries
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
  • Handle patient billing
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the medical office staff
  • Cleaning and preparing exam rooms between patient visits
  • Performing diagnostic tests as ordered by the physician, including urinalysis
  • Performing blood pressure readings (using automated monitor), and height and weight measurements as ordered by the physician.
  • Assisting physicians in various procedures
  • Completing daily, weekly and monthly task lists as required
  • Autoclaving medical instruments

Qualifications

  • Must have at least one year experience in a medical office setting
  • Strong administrative skills, including phone systems and front desk operations
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with AVA EMR is an asset

The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Multi-task and work efficiently in a very fast-paced environment
  • Work well under pressure
  • Provide exemplary customer service.
  • Work a variety of different shifts, including evening and weekends
