ABLE Engineering Services Inc. "ABLE" is a versatile, experienced, multi-disciplinary engineering firm that works on a wide range of projects. We excel in civil and structural engineering, surveying and the design of infrastructure systems for commercial, residential, governmental and industrial projects.
We are seeking Survey Technician to join our team from our Valley Office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Travel to and from job sites throughout Nova Scotia,
· Assist in field surveys and operate survey instruments and devices,
· Assist in construction surveying tasks including foundation layouts, gridlines, benchmarks, and elevations, quality control and location certificates,
· Assist in completing topographic field surveys,
· Operate a chain saw to blaze and clear boundary lines,
· Carry stakes, rebar, survey markers, equipment and other items during field visits,
· Any and all responsibilities assigned by the Department Head.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Certificate or diploma in a recognized geomatics/surveying program, or equivalent field experience within Canada considered an asset
· Formal survey technician training from an accredited institution considered an asset
· Able to successfully and consistently operate field survey equipment including Total Station, Base Station, GPS/RTK equipment consider an asset
· Experience operating a chain saw considered an asset
· Experience in surveying or construction industries considered an asset
· Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural and survey plans
· Strong listening and communication skills
· Appreciates outdoor work
· Must be available and able to travel frequently throughout the Caledonia, Digby, Clare/Yarmouth areas
· Valid Nova Scotia drivers license
