We are seeking a Survey Technicians/Chain Saw Operators to join or team
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Travel to and from job sites throughout Nova Scotia
- Participate in field surveys and operate survey instruments and devices;
- Brush cutting using chainsaw or brushsaw.
- Keep records, measurements and other survey information in systematic order;
- Any and all responsibilities assigned by the department head.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Strong and proven spatial recognition skills
- Able to successfully and consistently operate all field survey equipment
- Able to lift and carry +/- 30lbs
- Formal survey technician training from an accredited institution considered an asset
- Chainsaw L1 (challenge or complete L3 optional) considered an asset
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Appreciates outdoor work
- Must be available and able to travel frequently throughout the South Shore, Halifax Regional Municipality and the Annapolis Valley.
- Valid Nova Scotia drivers license
- Uses and applies good field judgement for accuracy, and adequacy of field work
- Occupation Health & Safety, WHMIS and First Aid training considered an asset.
