Rotation/Shifts
Days and nights, including weekends, 12 hours shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Two-year college diploma in Police Foundations or equivalent;
  • CPR and First Aid certificates;
  • Government of Ontario Security Guard License;
  • Five (5) years of experience in the fields of security, police, corrections or military;
  • One (1) year of experience leading others or a team of Protection Agents;
  • Experience with writing end of the shift¿s notes/reports, preparing and delivering emails to TOH Management team;
  • Ability to learn and apply working knowledge of the Criminal Code, provincial statutes including but not limited to the Mental Health Act and the Trespass to Property Act, and other pertinent crime prevention law;
  • Knowledge of emergency and security principles;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word;
  • Ability to communicates effectively with people at all levels. Considers the purpose of communications as well as other key factors in deciding what to communicate and how to deliver the message;
  • Highly developed problem solving, judgment and decision-making skills required to deal with unexpected situations or issues and to respond to life safety/emergency situations;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead Security staff as well as external security service and experience leading a team of protective agents and extensive knowledge of security in a Hospital;
  • Ability to exercise, judgement, tact, diplomacy, and strict confidentiality are mandatory;
  • Ability to independently identify and resolve situations that could compromise the safety or well-being of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians, and visitors.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
