Description:
- Prepare accurate, timely and well organized construction estimates at various stages of design including concept with limited information to detail construction drawings for various properties on a national basis
- Prepare estimates for new construction, renovations and Tenant fit – ups
- Work with Real Estate Team to ensure construction estimates are updated and relevant
- Review soils, environmental & designated substance reports to ensure budgets reflect incremental costs and recommend cost effective alternatives
- Prepare cost comparisons as required
- Develop & maintain cost analogs based on historical data
- Source new alternative cost efficient materials and methods of construction
- Review sub-trade quotes to verify conformity with bid documents
- Tracks spending, reviews cost proposals and negotiates pricing; track against budget
- Maintain relationships and database of subcontractors and supplier through phone and email etc
- Performs project analysis work and prepares presentation packages for approval.
- Assist in coordinating Due Diligence work for new and existing sites
Job Specific Skills:
- Min post Secondary Education Technical Diploma - CET (Civil Engineering Technology)
- Minimum of 5-10 years Construction Estimating experience in the ICI (Industrial Commercial Institutional) sector preferred
- Design Build Estimating background is an asset
- Ability to reviewing agreements and RFP's
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organizational skills including the ability to time manage and meet multiple tasks within a high-pressure work environment
- Ability to manage at different levels of an organization
- Excellent problem solving, strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Self-motivated and results driven
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with various Microsoft Office application i.e. Excel, Word & Outlook
- Must be flexible to travel within Canada
