SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Team Lead will supervise the day-to-day delivery of high-quality services, staff orientation, quality management and performance improvement. The Team Lead will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of a multi-disciplinary team within the Program. The Team Lead will supervise the delivery of programs for clients, the carrying out of individualized support plans, the delivery of supportive counselling, crisis prevention and intervention, skills development (life skills, social skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills) and vocational and leisure support. This individual will be involved in various interdepartmental and community committees to identify and provide comprehensive services. The Team Lead will be required to work closely with management and other colleagues to assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of new policies, procedures and initiatives.
HOURS OF WORK
The Team Lead will work a thirty-five (35) hour week, the hours being flexible to the needs of the staff, clients and the program.
SALARAY RANGE: $34.71-$41.38 per hour.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in human services/human sciences or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a community mental health setting working with adults recovering from serious mental illness or concurrent disorders.
- Must have a valid Ontario G-Class driver's license, relevant insurance and use of a reliable vehicle.
- Knowledge of mental health diagnoses, substance misuse, harm reduction, and recovery-focused approaches is required.
- Must be an energetic self-starter who is able to function comfortably in a team environment or independently, and relates well to co-workers and the public.
- Ability to manage time and multiple tasks with little supervision.
- Enjoys administrative tasks with demonstrated organizational, problem solving, critical thinking and program execution skills.
- Above average writing ability; ability to analyze written reports, complex documents and publications.
- Ability to support performance management and improvement as needed.
- High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
- Ability to calmly assess complex situations and make appropriate decisions independently.
- Experience developing and implementing program guidelines.
- Sound knowledge of community resources.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and suicide risk assessment preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, electronic record keeping and data collection systems.
- Able to successfully complete and provide a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
