About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Working Cleaning Supervisor to support daily janitorial operations at a large distribution centre and warehouse in Vaughan. This is a hands-on supervisory role where the successful candidate will both perform cleaning duties and oversee the quality and coordination of on-site staff. This position plays a key role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and operational standards across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including:
  • Operating floor machines (auto scrubbers, burnishers, etc.)
  • Cleaning washrooms, lunchrooms, offices, and common areas
  • Maintaining warehouse floors and high-traffic areas
  • Supervise and support cleaning staff during shifts
  • Conduct regular inspections and correct deficiencies as needed
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new cleaning staff
  • Organize coverage for staff call-outs and assist with scheduling adjustments
  • Assist with ordering, tracking, and organizing cleaning supplies
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and site requirements
  • Communicate issues, staffing needs, and supply concerns to management

Requirements

  • Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning
  • Supervisory or lead-hand experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment
  • Experience operating floor machines is required
  • Ability to lead by example in a hands-on role
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable attendance and a professional, safety-focused approach

Health & Safety Requirements

  • PPE is required at all times
  • Steel-toed safety shoes are mandatory
  • Company-provided allowance available for required footwear/PPE
