Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our childcare services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for children ages 2.5 to 5 years old. This role requires strong communication skills, classroom management, and a passion for working with children. The Early Childhood Educator will play a vital role in fostering developmental growth and ensuring each child's individual needs are met.

Qualifications

  • BC Certified Early Childhood Education
  • Valid First Aid
  • Criminal Record Check
  • 2 Character References (Professional and Peer)
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills
  • Experience working with children ages years old
  • Strong understanding of early childhood principles, teaching and learning strategies, and practice of guiding young learners behaviour

Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining detailed records of developmental milestones
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities and share best practices
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom to ensure safety and accessibility
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
