We are looking for a motivated and reliable Warehouse Labourer to join our team at Sound In Town. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone eager to learn more about the audio-visual industry, events, and the inner workings of AV equipment. The role primarily involves assisting with prepping jobs, moving road cases, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring that AV gear is properly turned around and ready for events.

While this position starts as a casual role, there is potential to transition to a part-time role for the right candidate. Flexible working hours are available, with work schedules based around our event timeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Job Preparation & Gear Handling:
  • Assist in preparing and packing AV equipment for upcoming events.
  • Help organize and move road cases, racks, and other heavy AV gear around the warehouse.
  • Loading & Unloading Trucks:
  • Help load and unload equipment from trucks and transport vehicles, ensuring that all items are safely packed and delivered.
  • Inventory & Equipment Management:
  • Assist with organizing and labeling warehouse inventory.
  • General Warehouse Support:
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized warehouse space.
  • Support other team members with any additional warehouse or event prep tasks as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Physical Ability:
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Comfortable with manual labor, including bending, squatting, and carrying heavy items.
  • Basic Computer Skills:
  • Basic proficiency with computers (e.g., ability to check and update inventory lists, navigate simple software systems).
  • Organizational Skills:
  • Ability to maintain an organized workspace and ensure efficient flow of gear and inventory.
  • Communication:
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and other staff.
  • Reliability:
  • Strong work ethic and punctuality, especially given the event-driven nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Experience:
  • Experience in organizing inventory or working in a warehouse setting is a plus but not required.
