We're seeking a Facilities Operations Assistant to support the daily function, safety, and upkeep of our production site. This role focuses on routine facility maintenance, outdoor and indoor site care, and supporting shipping/receiving activities that keep the operation moving.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where equipment, tools, and physical activity are part of the everyday routine.

About the Role

The Facilities Operations Assistant ensures that the property, equipment, and workspaces remain in good condition. You'll complete scheduled maintenance tasks, assist with material handling and deliveries, and maintain the grounds throughout the year. This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who takes pride in consistency and reliability.

Primary Responsibilities

Routine Maintenance

  • Complete basic equipment checks and replace consumables (filters, belts, fittings, etc.).
  • Support preventative maintenance tasks according to schedules provided.
  • Assist with setup or relocation of facility equipment and tools.
  • Identify issues early and communicate them to the Facilities team.

Shipping & Receiving Support

  • Receive materials and supplies; verify quantities and documentation.
  • Move and stage items safely using appropriate equipment (training provided).
  • Keep storage and supply areas organized and clearly labeled.
  • Assist internal teams with material transfers between departments.

Grounds & Facility Care

  • Maintain outdoor areas including snow removal, walkway clearing, and seasonal yard upkeep.
  • Perform general site cleaning such as waste removal and debris management.
  • Ensure entrances, parking areas, and high-traffic zones remain safe and accessible.

Requirements

  • Ability to commute reliably to our Edmonton facility.
  • Experience in facility upkeep, maintenance, labour, or shipping/receiving is an asset.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs (22 kg) and performing physical tasks.
  • Valid driver's license; equipment experience (forklift, skid steer, etc.) is beneficial but not required.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
