Overview

Are you passionate about dogs and looking for a flexible way to earn extra income? As a Dog Walker, you'll have the opportunity to engage with furry friends while enjoying the great outdoors. This role is perfect for dog lovers who want to make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners. You'll be responsible for providing safe, fun, and engaging walks for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, ensuring they get the exercise and socialization they need.

At this point the position is casual as we are working to build a leash walking customer base. You will earn $20 per half hour walk.

What you'll do

  • Walk dogs in various environments, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the outing
  • Monitor each dog's behavior and health during walks, reporting any concerns to the Holy Moly Mutts
  • Provide basic training commands during walks to reinforce good behavior
  • Maintain clear communication with pet owners and Holy Moly Mutts regarding their dog's activities and needs.
  • Perform basic grooming tasks such as drying dogs with a towel if rainy or cleaning paws after walks if requested
  • Keep accurate records of each walk, including duration, routes taken, and any notable behaviors.

Experience

  • Must be responsible, trustworthy, punctual, and professional.
  • Previous experience in dog handling or pet care is highly desirable
  • Clean Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check
  • Clean driving record
  • Understanding that you will be working in all weather (cold, rain, snow, etc.).
  • Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus
  • Strong animal handling skills, including experience with animal restraint when necessary
  • Customer service experience to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their concerns
