About the Role:

This position ensures that members, guests, and participants have positive and welcoming experiences while visiting our Centre. This position is responsible for processing membership sales, services, and program registrations, which directly contributes to member satisfaction and the overall success of YMCA programs. The Experience Associate will deliver exceptional customer service and resolving member inquiries efficiently and professionally.

Responsibilities:

Program and Service Delivery

  • Promote and facilitate a positive YMCA experience for anyone who visits our centres, Role model YMCA values in each interaction by delivering service responsibly, honestly and with care.
  • Spend 90-100% of time in direct service delivery.
  • Be available to provide information on YMCA programs and services to meet individual needs, process registrations for memberships, events, programs, and services. Process and approve Financial Assistance applications.
  • Lead tours and welcome prospective members.
  • Respond to all requests and concerns in a timely manner, communicate issue with appropriate staff as needed.
  • Follows processes, systems and initiatives that will promote growth, improve retention and ensure all YMCA experiences are excellent as directed.
  • Assess and identify service situations and exercises sound judgment in recommending and facilitating solutions both within there are and the Centre.
  • Follow YMCA Cash Handling Policy and processes.
  • Contribute to branch Duty Manager shifts on a weekly basis as assigned.

Health and Safety

  • Maintains a safe and supportive environment for all by following YMCA Health Safety Child Protection and Emergency policies and procedures.
  • Assist with emergency situations as required.
  • Record or report cleaning and maintenance needs.
  • Monitors and reinforces member/guest behavior in accordance with the YMCA Member and Participant Code of Conduct.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience is an asset.
  • Intermediate (Standard) First Aid & CPR-C.
  • Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector check.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and other forms of technology effectively.
  • Flexibile work schedule – including early mornings, evenings, weekends and stat holidays.
