The Role

We are currently recruiting for experienced Telehandler Operators  to join our team at Kearl Oil Sands, a major oil sands site in Northern Alberta. The successful candidates will work in a safety-first environment on a 14/14 rotation. Camp accommodations and meals provided. Charter flights provided from designated hubs in Edmonton and Calgary with flight allowances based on the province located. 

This project is 6 months in duration and will be starting at the beginning of March.

CLAC hourly wagesPayday is every FridayCompany contributed RRSP & Pension contributionsBenefits after 300 hoursPaid training10% vacation and stat holiday pay on regular earningsOT at 1.5 after 8 hours per day 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Operate telehandler safety and efficiently to lift, move, position, and place materials at varying heights and distancesConduct pre-operational checks and basic maintenance (fluids, tires, attachments)Select and properly install approved attachments (forks, buckets, man baskets, etc.) as requiredInterpret load charts and ensure lifts are within rated capacities Communicate effectively and clearly with ground personnel Follow site-specific safety procedures, lift plans and manufacturer operating guidelinesMaintain clear work zone and ensure safe travel pathsAssist with material staging, loading/unloading trucks and jobsite organizationIdentify and report mechanical issues, hazards or unsafe conditions immediately Work in coordination with other equipment operators, trades and supervisorsComply with all company, client and regulatory safety standards 

Skills/Education/Qualifications/Requirements

Valid Telehandler/Forklift CertificationPrevious experience operating telehandlers in construction, industrial or live-plant environmentsStrong understanding of load charts and safe lifting practicesPhysically capable of working in demanding environmentsExcellent situational awareness and hazard recognitionEffective communication and teamwork skillsMechanical aptitude for identifying equipment issuesMust have valid safety tickets (CSTS-2020, H2S Alive, WHMIS 2015, Fall Protection, Confined Space, First Aid, AWP)Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol testMust be willing to complete a criminal background checkMust be legally eligible to work in Canada
