About Wuxly:
Wuxly is a Canadian leader in advanced textile integration, tactical apparel, smart textiles, and soft-goods manufacturing. We pair design, pattern engineering, supply chain expertise, and scalable production to deliver mission-ready solutions for defence and government clients.
We operate as the commercial and operational bridge between breakthrough textile technologies and end users, acting as a systems integrator and program manager from concept through delivery. Our work sits in the dual-use arena: defence and tactical applications (including extreme cold-weather uniforms, outerwear, shelters, covers, and concealment) alongside a growing consumer business translating the same performance standards into premium outerwear and everyday gear.
Our products and programs are executed under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 disciplines and shaped by performance proven in the world's harshest environments.
About the Role:
Wuxly is seeking a Design & Technical Product Developer to support our Design and Product Development team across design, technical, and development functions. This role contributes to pattern work, tech packs, fittings, marker support, and material sourcing while collaborating closely with design, product development, sourcing, and the sample room to bring products from concept through production.
This position is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys variety, collaboration, and hands-on learning, and who is eager to build strong technical and design skills within a performance-driven apparel environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Technical Support
• Support pattern development, adjustments, and preparation for sampling and grading
- Assist with marker layout and fabric-efficient cutting plans
- Create and maintain tech packs, including measurements, construction details, and BOMs
- Develop flats and technical drawings using Adobe Illustrator
- Operate the plotter to print patterns and markers
Fit, Development & Collaboration
• Participate in fitting sessions and document fit, pattern, and construction feedback
- Collaborate with design, product development, and the sample room to ensure product accuracy
- Support resolution of basic fit, construction, and development issues under guidance
- Responsibilities may flex based on project needs, with team members supporting one another across functions
Materials & Sourcing Support
• Support sourcing of fabrics, trims, and raw materials
- Organize swatches, material libraries, and supplier information
- Communicate with suppliers as needed under guidance from senior team members
What We're Looking For:
Education & Experience
• Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Apparel Production, or a related field
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in design or product development
- Working knowledge of Gerber for basic pattern and marker work
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for flats and tech packs
- Comfortable using Microsoft 365 (Word, Teams, OneDrive, etc.)
- Basic understanding of garment construction, fit, and fabric usage
Skills & Attributes
• Detail-oriented, organized, and technically curious
- Eager to learn and develop across multiple areas of product development
- Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable supporting a range of tasks
- Strong communication skills and a positive team mindset
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Why Join Wuxly:
- Supportive, collaborative, and creative work environment
- Hands-on exposure to design, technical development, sourcing, and production
- Meaningful involvement throughout the product development lifecycle
- Opportunity to grow skills and responsibilities as the business scales
- Work on technically complex, performance-driven apparel and soft-goods programs
- Competitive compensation package including Bonus potential, Strong benefits package and Group RRSP employer contributions - as well as discounts on Wuxly products
- Wuxly may use AI to assist in the initial screening stage of the recruitment process - however, Humans will be the primary reviewer of applications.
- Wuxly values diversity in our team, as well as in our customers, suppliers and others. We provide equal employment opportunity for all applicants and employees, and do not discriminate on the basis of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, record of offences, marital status, family status, or disability.

If you would like to request a specific accommodation because of a disability or a medical need, please advise the Recruiter or Human Resources Associate when you are selected to participate in the recruitment process.
