This role is designed for a self-driven medical professional (NP, RN, or LPN) with a minimum of 3 years of continuous, advanced injecting experience who is passionate about sharing their expertise on a contract basis.
You will lead hands-on training for healthcare professionals (MDs, NPs, RNs, LPNs) on advanced aesthetic procedures, including Botox, Dermal Fillers, and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). This position operates on a per-course contract, offering the flexibility to work around your existing professional commitments in the Edmonton area.
Key Duties and Responsibilities (Contract Basis)
The trainer's primary responsibility is the safe and effective education of medical professionals. Duties will be scheduled based on the Edmonton training calendar:
1. Contracted Training Delivery
- Lead Training Programs: Conduct and lead intensive, hands-on training sessions for healthcare professionals on cosmetic injectables (Neuromodulators, Dermal Fillers, PRP, etc.).
- Aesthetic Artistry: Deliver high-level didactic lectures and educational content focused on advanced facial anatomy, safe injection techniques, product selection, and complication management.
- Hands-On Mentorship: Provide direct, one-on-one supervision and coaching to trainees during live-model practice to ensure clinical precision, student confidence, and patient safety.
- Competency Evaluation: Evaluate trainee performance, providing professional, constructive, and detailed feedback to the Institute's education director.
2. Clinical & Professional Standards
- Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the clinical authority for the duration of the contracted course, ensuring all practices adhere to Alberta's professional nursing standards (CRNA or CLPNA) and medical standards.
- Preparation: Review course materials and protocols prior to the course date to ensure alignment with Northern Aesthetic Institute's standards.
- Documentation: Ensure all required training and model documentation is meticulously completed and submitted promptly upon course conclusion.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Professional Licensure: Must hold a current, active, and unencumbered registration as a Nurse Practitioner (NP), Registered Nurse (RN), OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the relevant Alberta regulatory body (CRNA or CLPNA).
- Aesthetic Experience: A minimum of 3 years (36 months) of continuous, hands-on experience as a cosmetic injector administering neuromodulators and dermal fillers in a clinical setting.
- Language: Fluency in English is required; French is not required for this Edmonton-based position.
- Treatment Expertise: Proven proficiency in a wide range of injectable treatments and comprehensive facial assessment. Experience with PRP/Biostimulators is highly valued.
- Training/Teaching: Prior experience in a formal instructing, precepting, or mentoring role within the medical aesthetics or surgical field is preferred.
- Clinical Knowledge: Demonstrated advanced expertise in facial anatomy, aseptic technique, and emergency/complication management.
- Attributes: Superior communication, public speaking, and adult teaching skills. Must be reliable, highly professional, and available for flexible scheduling in Edmonton.
