Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Lumber Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their lumber and building material needs, and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to work effectively in a retail environment.

Duties

  • Assist customers in selecting the appropriate lumber and building materials for their projects.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Maintain organized displays and merchandising of lumber products to enhance visibility and accessibility.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for processing transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products that complement customer purchases.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a clean and safe shopping environment.
  • Manage time effectively to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred.
  • Experience in retail sales or technical sales is a plus, particularly in technology or building materials.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
  • Proficient in cash handling procedures with attention to accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating positive experiences for shoppers.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain store appearance.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone.
