Job Summary

Martins Electric is a locally owned electrical company specializing in commercial, industrial, and multi-residential projects throughout Western Canada. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, safety and teamwork. We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Red Seal Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist an experienced electrician in various tasks related to electrical installations, maintenance, and repair. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the electrical trade while working under the guidance of a skilled professional.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installations, maintenance and repairs on commercial and industrial projects
  • Familiarity with fire alarm data and control system installations
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
  • Lead apprentices and ensure safe, efficient work practices
  • Travel and stay on-site for the duration of out-of-town projects
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
  • Maintain high safety and quality standards in all work

Qualifications

  • Valid Red Seal Journeyman Electrician Certification
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
  • Experience in commercial or industrial construction preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced electricians
  • Good physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Reliable, safety-focused and professional
  • Pay $60.00 per hour, + possibility of overtime, must be comfortable with out of town work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 80 per week
