What you'll do

  • Operate various types of trucks including tractor-trailers, to deliver freight across long distances.
  • Load and unload cargo efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Navigate routes effectively, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining compliance with all traffic regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
  • Utilize manual transmission skills when required for specific vehicle types.
  • Manage refrigerated trailers as needed, ensuring temperature-sensitive goods are transported correctly.
  • Maintain accurate logs of hours driven, mileage, and fuel consumption in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with dispatch teams to communicate any delays or issues encountered on the road.

Basic qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on long-haul routes.
  • Minimum 1 year experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with dump trucks or roll-off trucks is a plus.
  • Knowledge of freight handling procedures and best practices for load securing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions on the road.
