Job Summary: As a key member of the Finance department, and reporting to the accounting manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing complex accounting needs. The Sr. F will build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide professional financial assistance in alignment with organizational priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for performing day-to-day accounting activities, general ledger account reconciliations to support on-going internal and external reporting requirements, including month-end journal entries
  • Maintain Fixed Asset module
  • Maintain and forecast fixed asset continuity schedule and depreciation
  • Maintain lease accounting module
  • Prepare monthly accounting package to HQ finance team
  • Prepare quarterly related party transaction reports
  • Communication with internal stakeholders to ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to
  Required Competencies:
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Post-secondary bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business
  • Possess or in pursuit of a Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred
  • Experience with complex ERPs, particularly SAP considered an asset
  • Proven skills in financial statement preparation, analysis and reporting, including understanding of Canadian GAAP
  • Advanced computer skills and superior knowledge of computer applications and database software applications. Extensive experience with Excel is required
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and handle a high volume of work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sense of initiative and accountability, and able to work with minimal supervision.
