The Senior Analyst, Workday is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager, HR Technology  and cross-functional leads by serving as a technical/functional resource for supporting the Workday platform (Human Capital Management, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Recruiting, Talent, Advanced Compensation, and Time Tracking); responsible for, configuration and administration, system upgrades, and ensuring compliance with established system process standards and documentation.

This position is based in Toronto, ON and is in the office 5 days a week.  

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Function as a subject matter expert for all HR transactions and business processes
  • Act as technical support for advanced Workday report writing (i.e., expert knowledge and creation of calculated fields, matrix reports, dashboards and composite reports).
  • Analyze and troubleshoot Workday related issues through the application of root-cause analysis and resolve as necessary. Provide support to internal users.
  • Review, test and implementation of bi-annual Workday releases; Lead on determining impact and participating in regression testing for new system features and communication of changes/benefits to end users.
  • Assist with testing new business processes, system modifications, and updates.
  • Collaborate and support functional leads with escalated support issues.
  • Monitor and track progress on Workday support requests
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate work where practical (and/or improve performance, reduce risk, etc.).
  • Create and maintain detailed testing documentation and training materials
  • Participate in HR special projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must have 3+ years of experience as an analyst or specialist with Workday
  • Bachelor's Degree or certificate in related field
  • Must have strong knowledge and hands on configuration and support of Workday HCM, Business process, security and at least one of the following areas: Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, Talent
  • Strong functional knowledge across all functions in HR
  • Proven system analysis, design and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in application and process improvement requirements gathering and design, including process maps and gap analysis with detailed documentation
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be a team player who prefers a collaborative environment
  • Anticipates and embraces change; demonstrates willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot the deep details of an issue and resolve problems from end-to-end
  • SQL knowledge and understanding of relational database is preferred
