Occasional Availability: This role requires occasional remote availability during weekday evenings or weekends to support programs as needed. This may include responding to team members, stepping in virtually if a volunteer or reporting team member is unexpectedly unavailable, or ensuring continuity of scheduled programs. In-person attendance during evenings or weekends is not required, and these situations occur infrequently.

Salary: $42,000–$55,000 CAD, commensurate with experience

About Take a Pain Check

Take a Pain Check (TAPC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young people living with chronic pain and rheumatic diseases through education, advocacy, community-building, and research-informed programming. Our work spans podcasts, youth programming, international and national initiatives, partnerships with healthcare institutions and other stakeholders.

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to oversee day-to-day operations and support the continued growth and sustainability of the organization, reporting to the Board of Directors.

Role Overview

The manager will play a central leadership role within TAPC, overseeing organizational operations, coordinating programs, managing grants and fundraising efforts, and supporting internal teams. This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating closely with leadership and external partners.

Key Responsibilities1. Organizational Operations & Leadership

● Oversee day-to-day operations across all TAPC departments and initiatives

● Manage organizational priorities, timelines, and workflows

● Maintain internal documentation, trackers, calendars, and shared drives

● Oversee and support the work of team leads and coordinators

2. Program Delivery

● Manage and coordinate all TAPC programs from planning through execution

● Ensure programs are delivered on time and aligned with organizational goals

3. Grants & Fundraising

● Research, assess, and track grant opportunities

● Lead grant writing from intake to submission, including budgets and reporting requirements

● Coordinate communications with funders and partners

● Lead and create fundraising initiatives and campaigns

4. Partnerships & External Collaboration

● Manage and build relationships with universities, clinicians, researchers, nonprofits, and sponsors

● Serve as a point of contact for external stakeholders and partners

5. Meetings & Administration

● Schedule meetings with staff and collaborators

● Prepare agendas and track action items

● Support general administrative and operational needs as required

Qualifications & Skills

● Minimum 1 year of experience working in the non-profit sector

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● Familiarity with digital tools such as Canva, Slack, Wix, Google Workspace, or similar platforms

● Experience with grants, fundraising, or donor engagement is an asset

● Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities

● Comfortable working independently and supporting team members

● Strong attention to detail with the ability to think strategically

● Passion for youth health equity, patient advocacy, or community-based work is an asset
