Join Our Team as an Equity & Inclusion Advisor (English Services).
We're looking for a passionate and strategic Equity & Inclusion Advisor to help us make CBC/Radio-Canada a truly representative, welcoming, and equitable place—both in our halls and in the content we share with Canadians. This is a critical role that connects our corporate strategy to real, measurable workplace changes.

This is a permanent full-time position. You'll report directly to the Senior Manager, Equity & Inclusion.

This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.
Why We Need You (The Job Purpose)
You will be instrumental in driving forward CBC's mandate to reflect all of Canada's diverse voices and communities.

This isn't just an advisory role; you will help translate our high-level vision into day-to-day impact. You'll be responsible for driving the execution of our Equity & Inclusion strategy, providing strategic consultation to our senior leaders, and ensuring our English Services divisions are building truly inclusive teams and content. We need you to help us measure and achieve ambitious targets, such as increasing diverse representation in leadership and boosting overall inclusion scores.

What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)
In this highly visible role, you'll be actively shaping our culture and future:

  • Strategy & Coaching: You'll be part of the team rolling out our Equity & Inclusion strategy, serving as the go-to subject matter expert. This means coaching business unit leaders, influencing their initiatives, and helping them embed inclusion into their everyday practices.
  • Action & Policy: You'll design, launch, and manage large-scale programs and policies focused on creating a more representative workforce. You'll develop and structure clear action plans and ensure they actually get deployed across the organization.
  • Data & Measurement: You'll be a data whiz You'll establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). This involves conducting data-driven analysis of demographics, inclusion survey results, and pay equity to pinpoint systemic barriers and prove that our work is moving the needle.
  • Learning & Development: You'll curate, manage, and evaluate engaging learning programs (training and awareness activities) designed to reinforce a culture of equity & inclusion across all levels of the organization.
  • Community & Voice: You'll be an ambassador for CBC, identifying and building lasting partnerships with key external community organizations and vendors who are central to our mission.

What You Bring (Essential Qualifications)
We are looking for someone who is ready to jump in and lead with both empathy and strategy.
Your Foundation

  • A University degree in HR, Organizational Development, Social Sciences, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 3 to 5 years of applied professional experience dealing with complex equity, diversity, and inclusion issues in a corporate workplace.
  • A recognized EDI certification or designation (e.g., CCDI, Cornell, etc.) is preferred.
  • Proven success in leading and implementing large-scale initiatives that successfully promote diversity, accessibility, and inclusion.

Your Expertise

  • A deep, applied understanding of systemic barriers related to race, Indigeneity, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, culture, and their intersections.
  • Strong Project Management and Change Management skills. You know how to create measurement frameworks and track progress toward EDI goals using real data.
  • Experience working in a news and/or broadcasting environment is an asset.

Your Style

  • You're an excellent communicator, facilitator, and mediator, comfortable navigating sensitive conversations and building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • You have a collaborative, team-oriented, and proactive leadership style.
  • You have the ability to listen and empathize with colleagues who are learning about E&I issues, providing supportive guidance regardless of their current level of knowledge.
  • You're effectively working both independently and as part of a matrixed team.

Nice-to-Have (Assets)

  • Experience designing and delivering educational programs (with vendors or internally).

The Logistics

  • Schedule: Full-time, generally 9 am to 5 pm ET.
  • Location: Hybrid work arrangement (a mix of in-person and remote).
  • Travel: Some travel within Canada is necessary.
  • Autonomy: This role carries a high degree of influence. You will provide functional leadership to working groups and have the authority to make key vendor recommendations and final policy suggestions to the Senior Manager.
