About Capital One Canada.
For 30 years, we've been on a mission to change banking for good and build relationships by making credit accessible, simple, intuitive and rewarding. We want to help Canadians succeed with credit, because we believe in people — in our customers, in our associates, and in talent like you

About The Team
Capital One is committed to building and fostering a diverse and inclusive culture, where every associate feels like they belong. We recognize the benefits of diverse and inclusive work environments, and championing diversity and inclusion are central to our mission and values, and are part of our strategic imperatives. We believe that everyone has a unique point of view to share, and that only by harnessing the power of our collective wisdom can we truly create the best experiences for our associates and customers.

About The Role
Reporting to the Head of DIB and HR Business Partners, we're looking for an individual whose perspectives and experience enable them to support creating a welcoming and respectful environment that embraces diversity as a dimension of excellence, and promotes a culture of inclusion and belonging. As part of our HR function, your focus will be managing the delivery of the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) strategy, leading existing programs, supporting our Business Resource Groups, and suggesting fresh ways of how we think and deliver on our agenda.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Canada DIB strategy forward while partnering with the US and UK DIB teams to bring company-wide strategic intent to the Canada business
  • Apply strategic, analytical, and storytelling skills and collaborate with a cross-functional group of HR and business partners to solve complex, open-ended questions about how we should attract, develop, grow, and retain top diverse talent while working closely with the same stakeholder groups to think through ways to deliver the interventions
  • Lead and deliver on all DIB-related legislative requirements (e.g., LEEP, Pay Equity)
  • Connect various HR data points to generate regulatory reporting, relevant/actionable insights, and make strategic and tactical recommendations
  • Support the ongoing coordination of associate-led Business Resource Groups (BRGs) to ensure sustainability and scalability
  • Partner with fellow associates and senior leaders in HR and the Lines of Business to generate insights and advance the DIB agenda
  • Influence through compelling narratives to drive alignment with stakeholders across levels and business groups

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years in a DIB (diversity, inclusion and belonging)-specific role, or similar
  • Excellent communicator, both written and oral
  • Post-secondary education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years in Human Resources, ideally in a consultative role
  • CHRP or similar is an asset
  • Demonstrated competence in leveraging HR analytics to provide evidence-based guidance and advice
  • Experience with employment equity analyses, reporting, and planning
  • Proven success in collaborating independently to identify needs and develop innovative solutions to drive business impact
  • Ability to weave robust analysis into strategic planning, influencing and problem solving
  • Exceptional conceptual thinking skills and a strong quantitative orientation to define, structure, and solve complex talent problems
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills with a proven ability to influence and drive change
  • Proven track record in prioritizing competing priorities
  • Collaboration skills, including the ability to integrate and act upon diverse perspectives
  • Process expertise to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate policies and standards, including employment equity (analyses, reporting, and planning) in a corporate setting
