Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate RECE to join the team at Sheppard Business Park Child Care as a support/supply educator. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive space for children of diverse backgrounds and abilities. This role involves working closely with children, parents, and team members to promote growth, learning, and well-being.
Duties
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children during activities, playtime, and rest periods
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that foster cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, and nap times
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to share progress updates and address individual needs
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment adhering to health and safety standards
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing necessary assistance
- Document observations of children's progress and behavior for reporting purposes
- Participate in ongoing training related to childcare best practices and early childhood education
Skills
- Experience working with children across various age groups, including those with special needs or disabilities
- Strong understanding of childcare principles and early childhood education methods
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members
- Competence in using computers for documentation, lesson planning, or communication purposes
- Classroom management skills with the ability to organize activities efficiently
- Demonstrated time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
- Leadership qualities to guide children positively while fostering independence
- Writing skills for maintaining accurate records and reports
- Organizational skills to maintain a structured learning environment
