We are seeking a passionate software engineer or AI/ML developer with a deep understanding of AI and machine learning to instruct our Level 1: AI and Machine Learning with Python course for learners aged Students will be learning the algorithms and techniques behind recommendation systems, and how to combine it with a smart, interactive chatbot. The ideal instructor candidates for this course should possess a strong foundation in Python 3, Python libraries (PyCharm Surprise, NumPy and Scikit-learn), machine learning algorithms, as well as some teaching, TA or training experience.
Level 1: AI & Machine Learning with Python is a 1 week course that will be offered 4 times in July and August in-person in Calgary:
  • 1 time in partnership with Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School at their campus. Instructors hired to teach this course must be available from 9:00am-3:30pm MT from July 6-10
  • 3 times in partnership with Mount Royal University Camps at their campus. Instructors hired to teach this course must be available from 8:00am-4:30pm MT from July 13-17, July 27-31 and August 17-21, (plus 1 week in June for training). 

Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted starting in January Responsibilities
  • Create lesson plans and lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following Circuit Stream's Level 1: AI & Machine Learning with Python course curriculum (provided)
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their Chatbot project
  • Showcase proficiency in AI and Machine Learning concepts
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field
  • Grade and provide feedback on assignments and final projects that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.

Requirements
  • Availability to teach during the day (from 8am-4:30pm) in July and August 2026 (dates listed above)
  • Previous industry experience in software engineering or AI and Machine Learning specialties
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in Python (pandas and scikit-surprise), machine learning concepts and OpenAI API
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements
  • A strong portfolio of relevant work to showcase your skills and experience
  • Previous experience teaching coding to kids/teens or experience as a teaching assistant for university or college level courses
