Full-time | Monday–Friday | Competitive Pay ($20–$35/hr depending on experience)

Speedy Electric Ltd., a trusted local electrical contractor and licenced Generac generator service and warranty dealer, is hiring a Mechanical Service Technician to support our lead mechanic and service team. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and working on a variety of equipment.

You'll be involved in servicing Generac home standby generators, repairing and maintaining large agricultural generator systems, and completing fleet maintenance on our work vans and trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with servicing and troubleshooting Generac home standby generators
  • Support repairs and maintenance on agricultural generators and farm-related equipment
  • Perform routine fleet maintenance (oil changes, brakes, inspections, small repairs)
  • Help diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs under direction
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Assist with generator installations, part pick-ups, and general shop tasks
  • Complete basic service reports and documentation

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude — experience with engines, small engines, diesel, or generators is an asset
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
  • Valid G-Class driver's licence (clean abstract preferred)
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Experience in automotive, generator servicing, heavy equipment, or farm equipment is a bonus but not required
  • Willingness to learn — training provided, including Generac systems
