FCC Construcción, through its subsidiary FCC Canada, has been present in Canada for more than 25 years. In 1998, it was awarded the contract for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Fredericton-Moncton motorway. In 2011, it was awarded the contract to the extension of a section of the Toronto subway expansion, the city's first modern subway infrastructure project. This project was completed in 2019.

In Canada, FCC is proud to be actively involved in multiple projects across Ontario and British Columbia aimed at improving public transportation and infrastructure.

Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations (PTUS)
FCC Canada, in a 50/50 joint venture with Webuild Civil Works Inc., will deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line. This includes the design, construction, supply, and operation of three kilometres of twin tunnels underneath Pape Avenue between the Gerrard tunnel portal and the Don Valley bridge, two underground stations (Pape and Cosburn), two tunnel portals, three emergency exit buildings, and a rail switch/crossover near Sammon Avenue.

The Pape Station connection will interface with the Toronto Transit Commission Line 2 subway and related works.

Position Summary
Utilizing hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices, the Accounts Payable performs purchasing cycle activities and associated financial analyses. The position supports the seamless and efficient flow of data between different applications and disciplines across the organization and monitors compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational accounting policies and procedures in a complex environment.

The Account Payable Coordinator's Key Responsibilities Are
Responsibility – Accounts Payable

  • Applying purchase orders to vendor invoices and generating AP payment runs for review and approval.
  • Reviewing vendor invoices and validating them with supporting documentation.
  • Assessing compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Identifying anomalies and independently investigating and validating prior to posting.
  • Resolving any discrepancies and providing documentation and/or explanation and resolution.
  • Reconciling with, and reporting on the alignment of sub-ledger accounts with the general ledger.
  • Completing entries of vendor invoices and processing vendor payments on time.
  • Perform monthly reports and account reconciliations.
  • Ensuring reconciled items are cleared in a timely manner to support accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Developing customized reports.

Responsibility

  • Monitor and reconcile payment requests to ensure compliance with budgets and allocations.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Compile, analyze, and consolidate financial data for accurate and timely reporting.
  • Provide insights that support decision-making and financial planning.
  • Prepare and organize all required documentation for payment applications, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Act as a point of contact for stakeholders to gather and verify necessary documents.
  • Work closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure seamless payment processing.
  • Support additional accounting and finance functions.

Education And Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Math or Business Administration.
  • Proficiency in SAP
  • Previous experience of at least Three (3) years of an Account Payable Specialist is required.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working in construction projects.
  • Knowledge of full-cycle accounting and accounting systems (eg, SAP; etc)
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented
  • Significant account reconciliation experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a matrix organization.
  • Self-starter with an ability to identify issues and resolve problems independently.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English
