About us

Apollo Medical Clinic is a fast growing, medical office in Edmonton, Alberta.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant with a strong medical background to support clinical operations by taking accurate patient histories and typing chart notes. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with patients, knowledgeable in medical terminology, and able to document encounters quickly and accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories, including chief complaints, current symptoms, past medical history, medications, allergies, and relevant social or family history.
  • Assist clinicians by entering accurate and timely chart notes during or after patient encounters.
  • Maintain and update patient information in the EMR according to established clinical and administrative guidelines.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to privacy and confidentiality standards (HIPAA).
  • Perform basic clinical tasks as permitted by certification or training, such as measuring vital signs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other staff members.
  • Support administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, phone triage, messaging, and filing as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Office Assistant certification or equivalent training (Required).
  • Background or experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation standards.
  • Proficiency with EMR (Healthquest) systems and basic computer applications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional ethics.

Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Work Environment:

This position works closely with medical providers and administrative staff in a patient-focused clinical setting. Professionalism, reliability, and teamwork are essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
