Hiring Requirements:

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and develop a team of millwrights and electricians in a unionized manufacturing environment. This role requires a proactive leader who can inspire performance, foster collaboration, and maintain a strong culture of safety and compliance (Life Saving rules). Success in this position demands exceptional communication skills, sound technical knowledge, and the ability to drive operational excellence through effective planning, organization, and team development.

This position is a night shift

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient operation of plant equipment and services with a focus on safety, cost control, and product quality.
  • Maintain clear communication with all departments to address production requirements and equipment issues; flexibility to work multiple shifts may be required.
  • Schedule work orders in Maximo and evaluate associate training needs and performance.
  • Build and lead a skilled maintenance team while fostering positive union and employee relations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
  • Manage plant projects involving internal teams or external contractors.
  • Resolve associate issues in compliance with the collective agreement.
  • Support implementation of capital projects and plan preventive maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to GMP, Food Safety, and Health & Safety standards.

Experience & Education:

  • The ideal candidate will have a trade certification as a Licensed Millwright or Licensed Electrician
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a post-secondary education or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3+ years as a maintenance supervisor experienced in a unionized, strongly automated, fast paced manufacturing facility.
  • Food, beverage or packaged goods industry is a definite asset.
  • Competence in PLC for troubleshooting and programming change would be an asset.
  • Consistently deliver measurable improvements in workplace safety by driving continuous compliance initiatives and fostering a culture of proactive risk mitigation.
  • Excellent knowledge of troubleshooting, adjusting, or repairing of equipment.
  • Working knowledge of work orders and preventative maintenance.
  • Experience with HACCP, Continuous Improvement Processes, Project Management and Lean manufacturing would be an asset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and foster a results-driven team.

The annual salary range for applicants is: $67,700 - $100,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
