We are currently seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our growing team as a Technician at our Richmond Basic Rental Centre location.

HME is a fast-growing company, with over 140 full-time staff in offices located in Richmond, South Surrey, Victoria, Nanaimo, Kelowna, North Vancouver, Sechelt, Kamloops, and Abbotsford.

We are looking for a motivated, task-oriented individual who can work independently with minimal supervision. Compensation includes a competitive salary, and we provide a friendly team-orientated environment.

Hours for this role are full-time Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. However, working hours may vary according to business needs and employees may be required to work additional hours on evenings and weekends from time to time. HME offers a competitive wage along with a full benefits package inclusive of extended medical benefits. Remote work is not available.

What you will do for HME:

  • Primarily working out of HME Richmond.

  • Travel to other HME offices in Lower Mainland will be required.

  • Assisting in general warehouse duties such as organizing, stacking inventory, moving equipment, general stock picking as needed.

  • Constantly working to improve product and technical knowledge and continuously developing troubleshooting and repair skills.

  • Uninstalling, removing and returning HME equipment from within a client's home and/or facility using HME procedures, when required. This equipment includes wheelchairs, hospital beds, lifts, and pediatric equipment such as strollers and standers. Moderate lifting is required.

  • Inspecting equipment in a manner that ensures the overall cleanliness,

  • safety, and quality of the equipment we are providing.

  • Ensuring the accurate return of all equipment, noting any damage or missing parts.

  • Interacting with clients in a respectful manner while picking up equipment from their home.

  • Lifting weight of up to 50lb is required in some cases.

  • Other Technician Duties may arise that are not explicitly listed but may be required within the scope of this position.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills; fluent in English (both verbal and written).

  • Strong computer skills (fast)- must be comfortable with MS Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel

  • Must have a valid full BC driver's license (L and N are not acceptable)

  • Moderate lifting capabilities of up to 50 lbs.

  • Multi-tasking and hardworking

  • Must have a friendly, positive attitude and have the ability to have fun while working in a fast-paced environment.
