  • Mondays: 8am – 3pm
  • Fridays: 8am – 3pm
  • Saturdays: 5am start
  • Occasional early-morning Sundays

Position Overview

We are urgently hiring a skilled, reliable, fast-moving Prep Cook / Line Cook / Kitchen + Catering Assistant who can also support our cleaning + organizational needs.

This is not a traditional kitchen job. This role blends:

  • Prep cook & line cook duties
  • Catering production
  • Kitchen support
  • Client-facing tasks and pickups
  • Cleaning + facility upkeep
  • Light admin, packaging, and organization
  • Creative canapés and small-bite assembly

You will work closely with everyone on our team and must be able to thrive in a small, high-output environment where everyone contributes and nothing is "not my job."

Key Responsibilities Kitchen + Cooking Duties

  • Assist with prep, cooking, and kitchen management.
  • Prepare hot and cold small bites, canapés, hors d'oeuvres, salads, and grazing table components.
  • Execute recipes with flawless presentation according to brand standards.
  • Prep produce, fruit, vegetables, meats, cheeses, garnishes, and charcuterie.
  • Assist with canape assembly, plating, and creative finishing.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely (including meat slicer).
  • Maintain impeccable food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Support efficient workflow with a fierce sense of urgency you must work fast, clean, and precise.
  • Occasionally deliver orders or assist onsite at catering events.

Cleaning + Organization Duties

(ATTENTION CLEAN FREAKS AND MASTER ORGANIZERS This is for you)

  • Clean and maintain the entire facility: kitchen, staff washroom, office/meeting area.
  • Wash dishes and put them away correctly and neatly.
  • Sanitize all kitchen surfaces and high-touch areas.
  • Clean windows, fridge doors, glass surfaces, mirrors.
  • Sweep and mop floors; maintain spotless workspaces.
  • Dust shelves and clean/organize displayware rentals.
  • Empty trash & recycling, replace liners.
  • Restock supplies in the kitchen and washroom.
  • Assist with kitchen stock organization and ingredient rotation.
  • Perform packaging, labeling, and light admin work as needed.
  • Follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines; report maintenance issues.

General Support + Teamwork

  • Collaborate with a small but mighty team to maintain efficiency.
  • Help with client pickups, packaging, menu card printing, and organization.
  • Take direction but also show initiative—be adaptable, cheerful, and ready to hustle.
  • Support smooth daily kitchen operations, no matter the task.

Requirements

  • Previous professional kitchen experience required

(Culinary students welcome if you are skilled + naturally fast + detail-oriented.)

  • Valid driver's license + reliable personal vehicle (deliveries + events required).
  • AHS Food Safety certification.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift 30lbs easily.
  • MUST work exceptionally well under pressure - our timelines move fast.
  • MUST have aggressive attention to detail and immaculate standards.
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and self-motivation.
  • Passion for food, hospitality, aesthetics, and client experience.
  • Ability to work independently in a small kitchen environment.
  • Must have very strong English speaking, writing and reading skills.

Hours & Compensation

  • hours/week depending on bookings + seasonality
  • $22–$28/hour to start based on skill + speed
