Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for the detailed design of varying types of projects constructed with reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber, and masonry. Duties include:

  • Analysis and calculations, interpretation of codes, preparation of drawings with technicians, and preparation of specifications
  • Performance of civil/structural assessments, inspections and field reviews, and preparation of reports and estimates
  • Collaboration with team members to ensure schedule and budget is met

  • Annual base salary: $90,000–$125,000, determined by factors such as education and prior work experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia
  • A valid class 5 BC driver's license
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written English)
  • Technical competence and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work within budgets and schedules

Additional Assets

  • Experience working with the BC Building Code
  • Experience in designing with steel, concrete, timber and masonry
  • Industrial structural analysis experience
  • Experience in a consulting environment
  • Experience in a construction setting
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, S-Frame, and AutoCAD
  • Interest in traditional building methods and the restoration of structures over 100 years old
